This is truly the perfect way to start your evening and relax to the soothing sound of the jazz. Expect two big theater concerts each night, plus other performances, a welcome party, speaker sessions and chances to grab autographs from jazz greats. You'll be assigned either an early or late dinner time that coordinates with a concert each night. We try not to share too much of this information now as it undermines the surprise element, but here are three types of events we produce just for the sheer enjoyment of doing so. On two nights of the Cruise (the 1st Night and Formal Night), special shows (“The Jazz Cruise Welcome Show” and “The Jazz Cruise Hall of Fame Show”) are presented in the Celebrity Theatre.

Whether performing with his groups, EB3 or Mental Images, or with the critically acclaimed Dave Holland Quintet and Big Band, Robin is an artist whose impact on audiences has proven powerful and lasting. Robin has recorded more than seven albums as a leader featuring his original music. Kevin would go on to work with jazz greats such as Art Blakey, Slide Hampton, McCoy Tyner, Sam Rivers, Roy Haynes, Dave Holland, Ron Carter and others. In addition to working in other bands, Kevin became the leader of his own groups that have toured all over the world. He has recorded more than 15 albums as a leader, plus several as a co-leader with artists like Orrin Evans and Stanley Jordan.

The building was designed by award winning architect Mark Cavagnero with the audio designed by Sam Berkow, one of the nation’s premier acoustical consultants. Jazz Cruises, together with SFJAZZ, will present the Ron Carter Quartet in concert at SFJAZZ. Boasting one of North America’s largest Chinatowns, Victoria is hailed as the Afternoon Tea Capital of Canada as well as the Brunch Capital of Canada. Our Culinary Expert, Michael Bauer, will be presenting several top selections for dining in Victoria. We will be in the city from 7 am – midnight, so any and all meal types are in play.

Be sure to bring your pickleball paddles, as the Summit is equipped with an interactive sports court. Opened in 2013, the 35,000-square-foot SFJAZZ Center is located on the corner of Fell and Franklin Streets in the heart of San Francisco’s fine arts district. The Center is the first stand-alone structure in the country built specifically for jazz performance, with the 700-seat Robert N. Miner Auditorium and 100-seat Joe Henderson Lab.
Reaching fully reserved status months before sailing was an indication of the excitement the cruise generated, and the sailing only confirmed that the hype was real. Botti at Sea II (’25) sports another amazing lineup and, if possible, Host Chris Botti has vowed to be even more active and involved than he was on Botti at Sea ’24. If you like to kick up your heels, you'll have plenty of opportunities for line dancing, Texas swing and two-stepping. Berry, founder of The Jazz Cruise, during her participation in cruise line sponsored jazz cruise programs during the 1980’s and 1990’s. When learning that the cruise lines were abandoning these programs, Anita took up the challenge of producing the very first full ship charter dedicated to “straight-ahead” jazz.

The Jazz Cruise lineups are comprised of nearly 100 of the very top jazz musicians in the world. Over the years, several musicians have become mainstays of the cruise and return nearly every year. Another large group of musicians are frequent, though not perennial participants, and, whenever possible The Jazz Cruise features a musician who is either new on the scene or simply new to the cruise.
Catch performances by blues, roots, jazz and R&B performers, and enjoy musical events, from live interviews to rare collaborations. For more than a decade, saxophonist Dave Koz has been hosting multiple fully chartered Royal Caribbean sailings each year, featuring smooth jazz performers, R&B musicians and special guests like comedians and magicians. Jazz Cruise itineraries vary year by year, with past sailings in the Mediterranean, Alaska and the Caribbean. Botti at Sea II (’25) will present an amazing big-time show every night of the cruise that features top stars, high-end production, and exciting performances. The goal for each show is to transform the main theater into a world-class showroom and give the guests a program that would be the equivalent of a top show on land…and do that for 7 consecutive nights.
Special shows may also be seen and heard in The Cosmopolitan Restaurant, the main dining room of the ship, which converts brilliantly into a cabaret-style music venue. Some of the most revered shows on the cruise (The Jazz Cruise T-Shirt Party, Wycliffe Gordon’s Gospel Show and Keyboard Capers) are performed during the daytime hours. Chris has perfected the art of ensemble entertainment, using his command of the stage and easy manner to create entertainment experiences unlike that of most musicians on tour.
Famous for delivering funny and pointed comments about current events and taking performers to task, some of the best people-watching is found during an Alonzo Bodden show. We have managed to get some of the best of the best in the jazz world to come perform for you on our jazz cruise. Just to let you know though, this year, pricing is temporary and subject to change at any time. The hosts and headliners are joined by very talented featured performers, three incredible bands and the amazing talents of DW3. Music Director Eric Marienthal serves as the creator and coordinator of the music events and we top it off with Alonzo Bodden, the funniest man on the planet, serving as our comic/host.
Also, please know that to ensure that the prices for these excursions are as low as possible, Jazz Cruises will not receive any compensation or reimbursement for any of its costs for designing and executing the events. Further, to the extent possible, representatives of Jazz Cruises will be present at the events, again without compensation from the sale of tickets or fees. Jeff is also the co-leader of the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra (the Grammy® -nominated big band that provides backup for Diana Krall).
